Nyf

Team Product Design Project

For this project, the team decided to focus on something close to my personal experiences: fear while using knives.

This project was focused on User Experience. As a team, we researched how people cut vegetables using a knife, the proper way to cook, and the way people feel while cooking. We also deeply researched the negative impacts of feeling unsafe in the kitchen and how we can influence this for the better.

After much brainstorming, the team created Nyf (Not Your Fingers).

This product is a finger guard that will protect you and allow you to gain confidence while cutting foods.

It comes in three sizes (small, medium, and large) to fit the majority of all finger sizes. Much testing was done on the shape, design, and sizes of these finger pieces.

This product has user experience at its center. It was so important to include others opinions in order to make this as ergonomic as possible and something that people would actually use in the kitchen.
