Continuous Medical Monitoring

Individual Organizational Design Project

This project tasked us to take an existing product in or around RPI and build a company around it. I selected working with Professor Mona Hella of RPI on her research concerning wireless vital sign monitors. This topic was interesting to me based on my own history with such devices and provided me a new opportunity to dive into the biomedical field.

I created the company, Continuous Medical Monitoring through a lot of market assessment, competitor research, business strategy planning, organizational design, and marketing. This project gave me insights on the feasibility of starting a company and what it takes for that company to be successful, from personnel needed to how marketing assets should be distributed, among others. I was able to develop my business, marketing, and organizational design skills. I still used my product design skills to refine a product line and created a Gantt chart for product development reaching further than just design by looking into manufacturing and costs.
